Prior to the acquisition (see: Gissing acquired by Reuters above) our development team had been working very closely with Reuters to further enhance the only currently available third-party solution for contributing data over a Reuters Marketlink IP 2 connection. Reuters Marketlink IP 2, an entirely new protocol, can support up to 750 messages per second (subject to Reuters' provisioning) and so can replace multiple Marketlink IP 1 connections. This has now been deployed at two major clients, and is under evaluation at three more.

Gissing Software won business from several new clients last year, notable among them are two clients from the buy-side - not somewhere Gissing has traditionally sold solutions. The two clients are Fidelity International, a major global fund management company, and Malbec Partners, a new hedge fund. Gissing built a new Hedge Fund market data system for Malbec largely from existing technology components. This is now available to other Hedge Funds looking to improve the capability of their internal market data systems.
